How Pantex Used Data Virtualization to Share Sensitive Information Across Facilities to Maintain the Nuclear Weapons Stockpile

Pantex Plant is the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) production integrator and provider of nuclear deterrent for the Department of Defense. Faced with rising costs and increasing security risks, the NNSA established the Product Realization Integrated Digital Enterprise (PRIDE) program to securely deliver weapon product lifecycle information across different sites in North America. They selected Data Virtualization as one of the key tools in implementing this project and picked the Pantex to lead the data virtualization deployment initiative. The Pantex began this process by completing two projects that demonstrated the ability of the data virtualization platform to share information across multiple sites in a secure manner while minimizing replication -- achieving both executive buy-in and generating interest for larger data virtualization deployments for future PRIDE objectives.
