Data Governance

| More
Denodo provides a thorough set of Data Governance capabilities to enable the data steward or the business user to control, monitor and audit the virtualized data services layers across the entire virtual data integration life cycle. Denodo’s features also allow the user to determine what, where, how and when data assets are accessed, to fully manage the SOA virtualized data services from analysis/design, implementation and testing through deployment to production environment in a real-time virtual data integration scenario following SOA principles.
  • Denodo’s virtualized data services can easily be searched and filtered using Denodo’s administration tools. The elements of the virtualized data services layer can also be tagged with additional metadata required by data stewardship rules to appropriately identify the services or views that are being created and/or published in the Data Hub.
  • Denodo’s graphical interface provides, among other things, certain optimization techniques for virtualized data services. Data stewards can perform advanced Data Lineage and Plan Tracing. What this means is that, the Denodo Platform enables users to easily check the function, operator and cache propagation to the sources BEFORE a specific virtual data view or virtualized data service is executed or goes into production; or analyze how changing an attribute in a data source might affect previously defined virtualized data services or federated data views; or see how the virtual data views and data sources are interconnected, in case the user wants to perform any kind of update.
  • Denodo offers a monitoring agent environment that communicates with any JMX and WS-Management compliant systems manager, such as HP OVO, IBM Tivoli, Nagios, etc. This environment provides real-time information about data source access, data service access, connections, cache usage, ongoing transactions, or general information about the server such as memory, CPU usage, etc. It also enables users to be notified of events such as metadata updates, statement execution, or transaction issuing.
  • Data Governance does not mean just "monitoring", but also controlling. Denodo provides a thorough set of graphically-configurable parameters for a fine-grained management of the services offered. This allows, for example, defining the number of connections accepted by every virtualized data service by configuring its specific connection pool.
