Data Services Security Features
Following are some highlights of the Denodo Platform’s data servcices security features:
- Publish layer: Denodo’s Publish layer provides a layer of LDAP and WSS compliant Web Services. This enables any calling application or user to make use of Denodo’s unified data access layer in a secure environment. Certificates are allowed and information is encrypted;
- Data virtualization and data federation layer: Access to the core Denodo server, where the SOA virtualized data services are created, is secured by providing an authentication layer. User access information can be stored inside of Denodo or in the company’s LDAP/Active Directory server; in the latter case, Denodo delegates the authentication to the designated LDAP server. Denodo also provides granular access control to virtual databases and federated data views, so that a user can have access/read/write privileges only to the views she is authorized to;
- Distributed architecture: Denodo’s distributed architecture allows different components to be placed in different servers, inside and outside of the company’s DMZ. Denodo implements very stringent security in order to provide you this flexibility. Therefore, all components in the Denodo architecture can be distributed in different network segments, and the communication between these components can be encrypted and authenticated using SSL;
- Data access: Denodo enables secure access to any kind of data source by using the source’s standards on authentication and security. Encrypted information can also be imported. Denodo also allows secure access to Web Sites required for data extraction by using internet standards such as HTTPS or SSL. Certifications can also be used.
