Manuel was named CIO of the Year in Spain in 2011, a fitting recognition for his many achievements at R and previous companies in bringing innovative technology to solve complex business problems and enable the business to move faster than competition. Manuel has played several key roles at R since 1998 including Director of Applications and Architecture, head of IT for commercial and residential systems and R virtual mobile operator business units before assuming the CIO role. His past experience includes working for Andersen Consulting in the Utilities group serving multinational companies, and at Norsistemas S.A. Manuel Graduated with a degree in Biochemistry and Biological Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed numerous courses in Spain, the Netherlands and the USA on information systems, organization and development methodologies and systems consulting.

Óscar Alonso Llombart has more than 15 years’ experience in the scope of technology consultancy in areas like business intelligence, data warehousing, corporate performance management, tailor-made developments and development methodology implementation. He is the author of numerous articles and studies on the application of business intelligence systems to business strategies. Oscar holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Technology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in Software Engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia and a doctorate in Data Mining from the Open University of Catalonia.
