Denodo brings old-school polish to new-fangled mashups, June 2008
Denodo provides a rich set of tools to unify both structured data and unstructured data from Web sites and e-mail. A recording button helps simplify building code, while frequent "test" buttons help you debug as you go. The elaborate menu system helps keep the different data sources straight, but even it can't tame the fundamental complexity of the problem. The years of development that went into the Denodo solution shows in the wide range of options you get for bringing data together.
Choosing the Right Mashup Architecture Pattern: Simplicity or Flexibility?

Mashups are new. Depending on whom you ask, Mashups are either exciting or scary, a value-added complement to SOA and enterprise solutions or frivolous widgets masquerading as enterprise applications, a panacea for Gen X-Y business users wanting to build self-service applications or an impending security and governance nightmare for IT.  Alas, in today’s nascent field there are Mashups and Mashup tools that support both points of view. Beware, and choose carefully!
In this series of reader-friendly articles from Denodo’s CTO, we unmask the technology behind Mashups. This first article compares the two major Mashup architecture patterns: the pipes and filters integration and the data federation patterns. Which one is better for you and why?
