Denodo Technologies releases version 3.0. of its Enterprise Information Integration (EII) platform

. The enhancements of this new release are designed to transform it into the universal solution for real-time data integration and for TCO reduction.

. The Denodo platform is the only solution that allows to integrate dynamic Web sources.

. Version 3.0 of the platform products : Denodo Virtual DataPort, Denodo ITPilot and Denodo Aracne. They are the result of a considerable R&D effort, which meant an investment of 4M Euro.

Madrid, June 06, 2005.- Denodo Technologies, the leading European provider of EII solutions for real-time data integration, today announced the release of version 3.0. of its Enterprise Information Integration (EII) platform , consisting of Denodo Virtual DataPort, Denodo ITPilot and Denodo Aracne.

Denodo EII platform allows companies to integrate information from multiple heterogeneous and dispersed, internal and external, data sources in real time.

"The product enhancements achieved in this new release differentiate us from our competitors even more. Currently, Denodo's technology is the only one that allows to integrate information from dynamic web sources and is the most well-established and developed EII technology. In fact, we are the European company with the longest experience in EII technology", said Alberto Pan, CTO of Denodo.


Universal solution and TCO reduction

The upgrades of this new version are designed to transform the platform into the universal solution for real-time data integration. Therefore, the integration of external sources -Web sources and Web Services above all - has been optimized and automated and the access to data from the applications has been simplified by using standard interfaces. Furthermore, Denodo has eased the deployment and maintenance of solutions based on the platform , which resulted in a significant reduction in the Total Cost of Ownership . The aim is to simplify and facilitate all life cycle phases of an enterprise information integration solution: installation, configuration, administration, use, maintenance and upgrading.

Denodo EII technology has been used for more than three years in diverse solutions, companies and public institutions. Currently, among Denodo EII platform users are entities from the telco (Telefónica de España, Comunitel, Grupo Gallego del Cable, etc.), utility (Red Eléctrica Española), media (Agencia EFE, etc.), banking (BBVA, Banco Popular, CECA, etc.), and government (Xunta de Galicia or ISDEFE - Spanish Department of Defense - ) sectors.


R&D effort to become a leading company in a booming market

Denodo has pioneered the development of EII technology in Europe . The company has invested more than 4M Euro and, presently, allocates 30% of its turnover and R&D staff to it. "This new release is the result of a big effort made in R&D, which will allow us to become the principal reference of one of the IT markets with the highest growth expectations" said David Sánchez, COO of Denodo .

According to Aberdeen Group, the EII market will grow by 60% annually with around $250M in revenue in 2005.

Denodo EII platform addresses one of the most important needs that companies have nowadays: the information integration. According to Gartner Group, Fortune 2000 companies in the US own an average of more than 100 applications running over 15 different platforms and with 8 data warehouse architectures. For Alberto Pan "these figures show the level of complexity that IT infrastructures have reached and the urgent need for companies to have the tools that allow them to access and integrate any kind of data".


Advantages over other technologies

The Denodo EII integration platform provides important advantages over other technologies that have been used up to now to fulfill companies' information integration needs. One of its key advantages is that it allows to develop non-intrusive integration solutions , without the need for adaptations in the source systems or for complex re-engineering. Moreover, companies do not need to have huge repositories in which to store the data since the information resides in the source and is accessed by the platform when companies need it, allowing them to work with updated information .


New features of each product

Denodo EII platform consists of three products which have been improved in this new version:

Denodo Virtual DataPort is an integration engine that enables efficient integration of data obtained from a multitude of heterogeneous and distributed data sources, internal or external. It allows the creation of a unified data model. Version 3.0. permits to access the unified data model through Web Services and/or JDBC. Furthermore, source import and view creation processes are fully supported by graphic tools. Another upgrade in Denodo Virtual DataPort 3.0. is the optimization of queries since query execution plans are automatically defined, thus, minimizing data transfer and avoiding complex processing. Finally, the access control to the unified data model and the views has also been optimized.

Denodo ITPilot is the only tool to extract and structure information from dynamic Web sources that is available in the market. It enables automation of Web source operations and data extractions. Version 3.0. fully supports the visual generation and management of wrappers - search and data extraction engines -, optimizes its performance and easies its administration. Moreover, the maintenance of wrappers is adaptive so that these can regenerate themselves automatically when changes occur in Web sites. The new version allows to access the generated wrappers via Web Services.

Denodo Aracne provides a solution for advanced Web crawling, indexing and searches of any type of documents and information sources: structured, semi-structured and non-structured (HTML, XML, PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). The new version fully supports graphic administration. Moreover, it can browse, download and index any type of Web site using JavaScript, dynamic HTML, etc., so that the amount of pages effectively indexed increases. Denodo Aracne 3.0. also includes tools to filter information in order to improve the quality of results provided in the searches.
