Surveillance functions are classical tasks in the Defense field.
During peace time, the main mission that intelligence services have to
carry out can be summed up in two basic objectives:
| |
 |
The detection and evaluation of signs that allow undeclared
hostile actions to be foreseen.
|
| |
 |
The accumulation of information on possible opponents,
which can be useful in case of a conflict. |
In times of crises or conflicts, the situation changes. The reaction
time becomes vital so that the processes involved in obtaining
intelligence information should be prepared to adapt themselves to
varying situations.
In the same regard, to anticipate the actions of criminal
organizations or to forecast emergencies, the elaboration
of relevant information from all the available data, internal or
external, is needed. To achive this, work on multiple, dispersed and
heterogeneous information sources is required, and the extracted
information has to be structured and filtered so that decisions can be
made.
Moreover, the solutions have to facilitate information querying
by human experts, sometimes in real time, and automatic report
generation.
Denodo provides an integration technology that allows
information capture independently of the source type where it
originated from(be it a database, a log file of a tracking system or a
message in a predefined format) and manages to structure it in a
homogeneous format that can be processed, for example, to send
alerts or to generate reports. |
