As a Global Accounting Assistant, you will support the Finance Manager APAC based in Chennai in planning, organizing, and controlling all financial aspects of the Company. We are seeking talented candidates with a desire to work in a vibrant workplace and are passionate about what we do.

You are a very hands-on and detail-oriented person, but also with the ability to see the big picture. In this role, you will play a significant role in the growth of the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand monthly balance sheet reconciliation process to ensure account balances are properly recorded and supported.
  • Support the Accounting team so month-end and year-end closings are reliable and performed within required deadlines (in US GAAP and Local GAAP accounting standards).
  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet accounts. Review accounts reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing usual tax fillings (Sales Tax, Tax returns, GST, VAT, etc.).
  • Participate in meetings with the Global Accounting team to prepare closings and provide support to the business.
  • Help with the adoption of new local accounting and tax rules as well as of new US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Finance and Accounting
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
  • Two years of work experience in a related field is desirable but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel (Pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience with NetSuite will be a plus.
  • Used to working across global time zones and locations with people from all over the world.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a high-activity, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
  • High level of discretion maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a small team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and results-oriented.
