What You’ll Do:

 We are seeking our first strategic CFO hire, who will be a key business partner to the CEO, the board, and senior executive leadership team.  You will be managing an international organization and have direct responsibility over all Strategic Finance matters: Investment for Growth, Public or Private Capital Raises, Financial Reporting, Finance Planning, Business & Pricing Models, Company Revenue Streams, Investors Relationships, and direct oversight over Facilities, Human Resources and IT Infrastructure, with special emphasis on aligning action in those areas with the short- and long-term business goals of the company.  The company’s organic revenue growth is strong and we are looking for someone to make an impact and help Denodo further accelerate growth through new revenue sources and innovative pricing frameworks.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an inspiring business leader who quickly earns trust and credibility and provides strategic leadership to CEO and leadership team
  • Lead all financial planning and analysis, budget forecasting and re-forecasting, financial preparation / presentation
  • Translate financial information into actionable insights for strategic planning, cash flow management, financing, and board and investor meetings
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion and lead the yearly planning process
  • Provide a lead role in potential capital raises (private or public), including actively leading financial discussions and refining long-term strategy
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with the goal of helping the company improve on key metrics
  • Evaluate and improve processes and systems to identify opportunities to streamline and focus current efforts to ensure operational excellence and support of overall business growth
  • Help manage internal and external relationships with a wide range of constituents including board of directors, employees, investment bankers, investors, commercial bankers, business partners, vendors, customer, lawyers and audit professionals
  • Advise on strategic partnerships and acquisitions with a focus on deal analysis, forecasting, and business planning
  • Oversee and partner with Human Resources for employee relations, compliance, HR systems and compensation planning
  • Lead and develop a team of outstanding professionals and positively influence Denodo’s culture
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes
  • Identifying investment opportunities and managing mergers and acquisitions
  • Responsible for maintaining the cap table and management of the option pool and grants
  • Implement organizational policies, operating procedures, KPI definitions, and business controls that ensure sustainable business growth
  • Ensure SOX compliance regarding all financial functions

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience as a CFO in VC or PE backed subscription revenue companies
  • Experience in scaling businesses and expertise in GAAP and subscription metrics
  • Experience on IPO processes and public company compliance requirements
  • Good understanding of technologies and platforms that support innovative business models in Software
  • Experience working with IT staff to manage and/or upgrade company systems. Systems implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading and overseeing the Human Resources and the Facilities function
  • “Hands On” ERP Systems Experience – Salesforce or NetSuite experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience overseeing all aspects of legal compliance
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish
  • Location options: Palo Alto, San Francisco, New York, Chicago. This is an office-based position
