The Opportunity

Denodo is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and results-oriented individual to join the marketing team. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for directing the field marketing and lead generation efforts within North America to drive pipeline generation and acceleration and ensuring sales and marketing goals and targets are met through effective management of timelines, resources, and process.  

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will manage a highly skilled team of regional marketing managers, and work collaboratively with product marketing, partner marketing, and creative teams to exceed lead generation targets and conversions. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Our candidate is a strategic player with leadership skills that help execute the following responsibilities successfully.

  1. Strategy: Understand the market and competitive position, target market needs, geographic context and develop creative marketing strategies to deliver stellar lead generation results against available budget and resources. Be willing to innovate and take calculated risks with new strategies, but drive accountability and continuous improvement in results.

  2. Budgeting & Planning: Develop well-thought, detailed, periodic marketing plans and budgets that cover intelligent mix of campaigns – horizontal, vertical, online, offline, Web, social, customer and partner marketing programs. Be well organized in communicating the plan, calendar, and expected goals / results to all stakeholders inside/ outside company. Negotiate advantageous contracts with vendors and monitor performance.

  3. Program Execution: Take direct responsibility for planning and executing campaigns, as well as delegate / manage programs through an extended team of marketers, Web, design / graphics, writers, and outsourced contractors in a coordinated fashion across multiple countries in North America. Demonstrate great attention to detail, driving accountability for results in executing a variety of campaigns including:

    1. Industry events, seminars, speaking opportunities, etc.

    2. Denodo events including customer events, prospect dinners, meetups, etc.

    3. Targeted pipeline acceleration campaigns to reach named individuals / titles in target accounts or verticals

  4. Nurture Leads into Opportunities: Manage the full life-cycle of lead-generation by ensuring proper follow up of new leads, nurturing of existing leads through use of marketing automation and Sales/ Sales development teams. Work closely with those teams to design targeted campaigns to obtain meetings with key decision makers at customers and prospects.

  5. Regional and National: Coordinate all of the above work across the national market. Also develop unique strategies and programs at region level to account for market differences and needs, leverage local presence of customers/partners, etc.

  6. Results-oriented Leader: Understand the company sales goals and create the marketing plan with metrics (marketing qualified leads, conversions, etc.) for each of the regions that will meet or exceed the sales goals for marketing-sourced revenue.

  7. Team management: Manage a team of skilled regional marketers working with them to create the regional plans, provide them enough resources for their execution, set targets and allocate budgets, monitor execution and course-correct when needed, manage risk and rewards commensurately, motivate them to perform at their peak performance, and mentor them to grow their responsibilities and career.

  • BA/ BS degree with a focus in marketing. MBA preferred.
  • 10 – 15 years lead generation, field marketing, and digital marketing experience in a B2B software company, preferably in data and analytics. Needs to have experience marketing in the US and Canada.
  • Should have experience creating integrated marketing campaigns with a good mix of field, company, and partner events, online programs, account-based marketing, and content syndication.
  • 5+ years of recruiting and managing highly skilled marketing team of at least 5 members. Experience managing remote employees helpful.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with product marketing, customer marketing, partner marketing, digital marketing, and creative marketing.
  • Familiarity with B2B software sales cycle is a must.
  • Highly analytical and results-focused leader driving marketing efforts with the team and monitoring that the execution is line with the plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially English and high attention to detail.  
  • Hands on attitude and creative use of limited resources. 
  • Team player, great at motivating employees, and being their coach.
  • Highly organized with critical-thinking skills. Is able to organize own’s work as well as those of the employees.
  • Good hands-on experience of and marketing automation systems (preferably Marketo) is required.
