Howie Lim from Money FM 89.3 interviewed Angel Viña, CEO & Founder of Denodo Technologies for his perspective on data virtualization in managing global pandemics.

During the interview, Angel described the importance of having real-time access to data in all situations and across industries, a need which has been accelerated amid the pandemic. He briefly touched upon how data virtualization works, detailing the speed and ease at which companies are able to categorise and access data leveraging upon data layers atop information systems.

He shares that with the ability to unify information from disparate data sources, key decision makers will be able to make accurate decisions and analyse information in real-time, even as data changes rapidly, as they now have quick access to data at their fingertips.

The topic of accelerated adoption of technologies such as data virtualization was briefly touched upon, and Angel highlighted that in 2019, a Gartner survey found that over 57% of global organizations had already implemented data virtualization, thus testifying to its increasing importance in today’s business climate.

With that, Angel shared more about Denodo’s efforts to contribute to Covid-19 efforts, through providing unlimited access to Denodo’s solutions for initiatives targeted at combatting Covid-19 to customers and partners. He also shared that Denodo’s employees contributed their time to create a unified portal providing insights into Covid-19, through which dashboards of information can be easily accessed by all.

The interview closed on an encouraging note, as Angel mentioned Denodo’s services are at 100% capacity to support the evolving needs of their customers and partners at this time.
