What Is Data Sovereignty?

Data sovereignty is the principle that data is subject to the laws, regulations, and governance structures of the nation or geographic region where it is collected, processed, and stored. It ensures that digital information is legally bound by the privacy frameworks of the country in which it physically or logically resides, rather than the country where the data owner or cloud provider is headquartered.
