People Analytics Trainee

Job Description

We are looking for students in the last years of a BS or higher degree, or recent graduates, in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field to join our HR team as HR Analytics Trainee.

In this role, you will be part of the department in charge of supporting Human Resources decision-making through data, reporting, and analytics. You will collaborate with HR colleagues to collect, organize, analyze, and visualize People data, helping the team better understand workforce trends and improve HR processes across the organization.

By carrying out this internship, you will acquire training in general concepts of People Analytics, HR data management, workforce metrics, dashboard development, data visualization, reporting automation, and responsible use of employee information. You will also learn how analytics can support areas such as recruitment, retention, engagement, headcount planning, and HR process improvement.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Initially, you will receive training on Denodo’s HR processes, organizational structure, people systems, and internal reporting practices.
• After that, you will receive training in HR analytics concepts, workforce metrics, data quality standards, and reporting tools used by the People team.
• You will support the collection, validation, and maintenance of HR data from different internal sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
• You will assist in the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations related to headcount, turnover, recruitment, retention, engagement, learning, performance, and other people indicators.
• You will help prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for HR colleagues and internal stakeholders.
• You will collaborate with the People team to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear data analysis and visualization requirements.
• You will support data quality initiatives, including data checks, issue identification, documentation, and follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
• Finally, you will receive training in the interpretation of HR data and the identification of trends and insights that can contribute to better people-related decisions.

Desired Skills & Experience

We need people meeting the following requirements:

• Student in the last years of a BS or higher degree, or recent graduate, in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in Human Resources, People Analytics, data-driven decision-making, and technology.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis concepts, and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar.
• Good command of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.

We value knowledge and/or experience in the following:

• Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis languages.
• Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other dashboarding tools.
• Familiarity with HR systems, ATS, payroll systems, or HRIS platforms.
• Understanding of HR metrics such as turnover, retention, absenteeism, time-to-hire, employee engagement, workforce demographics, and headcount planning.
• Knowledge of data privacy principles and responsible handling of personal information.
• Interest in automation, AI-assisted analytics, and digital transformation within HR.
