Redefining the Data Architecture
Over the last few decades, Bültel has grown much faster than its data infrastructure, rendering its data infrastructure inefficient and insufficient to meet the demands of today’s transient markets. Data was often stored in legacy databases, in different formats, with no common naming conventions or referenceability. The only way to exchange data between the different data silos was by importing and exporting csv files, a highly inefficient process. Bültel needed to transform its data infrastructure, merging its data silos for a single point of truth, and enhance the data infrastructure’s capabilities to meet current and future data and analytics needs.
Driven by these needs, Bültel implemented the Denodo Platform and quickly integrated its “most wanted” data. The new infrastructure follows a three-tier architecture consisting of a data source layer, a business layer (built on the Denodo Platform for its data integration, data governance, and security capabilities), and a presentation layer. Bültel can now combine the data from different data sources, in near real time. For the first time, Bültel now has a single source of enterprise-wide information with the right security and data governance capabilities.
